Select the design standard first. AS 3600:2018 (Section 4) applies to building structures with a 50-year design life. AS 5100.5:2017 (Section 4, incorporating Amendments 1 to 3) applies to bridges and associated structures with a 100-year design life; its clause 4.1 permits the AS 3600 durability requirements for a design life of 50 (±20 %) years.
